This is not run-of-the-mill! The Velvet Lounge Band bring world class musicianship, a wealth of experience, a touch of class, energy and charisma! It’s the very best in entertainment for your wedding day. A packed dance floor all night with an extensive and amazing set list including Swing, Pop, Lounge, Jive, RnB and Chart all performed in our own "Velvet” style.
Our lead singer is recording artist Cormac Kenevey! He has had sell-out shows from Ireland’s National Concert Hall to the world’s most famous jazz club Ronnie Scotts in London! Our excellent DJ Service is provided by a dedicated DJ service. They set up their equipment at the same time as the band, so they are ready to start absolutely seamlessly when the Velvets finish. You will find them very professional and they will help every step of the way for any special playlist requests etc.

We are happy to travel all over the country.
We always keep our music at a level that can be enjoyed by all, even in more intimate venues, your guests will not be forced out of the room by volume.
We have our own top quality sound and lighting equipment, all we need at the venue is a power socket!
We can be ready to play in about 30mins. Many venues need to “turn around” the room after dinner, and we can set up while this is happening or as soon as the band area/stage is cleared.
Drop us a mail to check availability. You can reserve your date by email/phone and we take a booking deposit by cheque or bank transfer to confirm, please see bookings section for full details.
The Velvets usually play up to a two and half hour set, with a 20 min break in the middle. This will often coincide with evening supper at the Venue. Our drinks reception Trio plays up to 2 hours.
Want to keep on swinging or just want a great variety? No problem! You can let us know if you have preferences for songs to include or leave out, or just leave it to us! We have a huge playlist of great music for dancing. We have been playing weddings and dance events for many years and we programme our playlist to ensure the night has a great flow with minimal breaks in between songs and keep everyone up on the dance floor all night.
A First Dance together as Husband and Wife is a lovely and important tradition! We will be happy to play any song you may have in mind, or we can suggest some popular ones if you like. We can play a special recording through our sound system if you prefer. The First dance is also a great way of getting everyone focused on the dancefloor and getting the party started!
If you opt for our DJ service, he will set up at the same time as the band, and we will share the sound system - this means less equipment, less speakers and a neater set up. It also means he seamlessly can play his first note at precisely the same time as the Velvets play our last!
